questions.
Navigating early development can feel complex. Here you’ll find clear answers to the questions parents most often ask, to help you understand the next steps.
Neuromotor therapy (TNPEE)
Neuropsychomotor therapy is a healthcare discipline focused on the child's global development, integrating motor, cognitive, emotional, relational and communicative aspects. Through play, movement and targeted activities, it supports the child in reaching their potential and promotes harmonious development. It works both preventively and rehabilitatively, accompanying children with difficulties or vulnerabilities on their path towards growth and independence.
I work with newborns and children who present with difficulties, vulnerabilities or specific needs in neuropsychomotor development. I also work preventively, to support and promote harmonious development through play, movement and relational experiences tailored to each child's needs.
If you have concerns about your child's development (movement, play organisation, attention, communication skills) or if a paediatrician or school has flagged some difficulties, it may be worth exploring with a specialist. Sometimes a few practical strategies at home and school are enough; other times a structured programme together is the right path. Remember: early intervention makes a real difference in children's outcomes!
First visit and assessment
We talk together about the child's history and what brought you to the appointment, and we observe the child through play activities and targeted proposals. Based on what emerges, we will agree on the next steps together. It is a moment of observation and listening — not an exam to pass.
The first assessment session lasts between 45 and 60 minutes. In some cases a second appointment may be needed to complete the observation. At the end, findings will be shared with the parents and any next steps will be agreed together. If further investigation is needed, referrals to specialist or hospital services may be recommended.
Sessions and therapeutic pathway
Sessions last 45–50 minutes and may be scheduled once or several times a week, depending on the child's age, goals and stage of the programme.
It depends on the child's age, the nature of the difficulties and the response to treatment. After the first assessment session we will define the goals to work towards together, which will be monitored and updated periodically.
Parents are not required to be present, but are always welcome. In some cases it is encouraged: parents can observe the session, learn to replicate activities at home, and better understand their child's needs. Regular catch-ups are held in any case to share observations, goals and practical guidance.
Courses and consultations
Yes, the course is open to all parents of babies between 0 and 12 months. Infant massage is an experience of touch and connection that promotes the baby's wellbeing and strengthens the parent-child bond. The small group setting also creates an opportunity for sharing and exchange with other parents.
The consultation is designed to support families with children from 0 to 6 years, adapting to the different stages of growth. Sleep is closely linked to neuropsychomotor development and is therefore approached taking into account the child's age, individual characteristics and the specific needs of the whole family.
The consultation is for families facing difficulties in managing their child's emotions and behaviours in daily life: emotional meltdowns, oppositional behaviour, struggling to calm down or to tolerate frustration and change. Together we work to understand the meaning behind these behaviours and find strategies to support greater calm and emotional regulation within the family. In some cases it may be helpful to combine this with a parental counselling pathway with the psychotherapist I collaborate with.
